HOW DID YOU IMAGINE THE END?
somewhere beyond the road,
the sound of a voice beyond your own says, โoh my god, what have we done?"
the day is gone, the dream is dead, the ground is hard and the sky is red
your body cries out and gets met with nothing coming back
nothing coming back
how did you imagine the end?
how did you imagine the end?
how did you picture yourself? how did you picture yourself at the end?
how did you live with yourself? how did you live with yourself at the end?
the way is shut, the door is closed, the day is gone, the dream is dead
the ground is hard and the sky is red
your body cries out and gets met with nothing coming back
nothing coming back

EVERYTHING DIES
what have we become?
what were we already, before everything we've done?
and what good can survive?
we survive just long enough to learn everything dies.
everything dies.
are you prepared to come to terms with what you've made?
prepared to come to terms with what remains?
what if nothing ever changes?
all eyes opened up wide and closed at the same time.
always watching, always waiting, always something
hungry and familiar, always coming
scratching at the door, always something
hungry and familiar, always coming
LET'S TALK ABOUT MONEY
let's talk about money.
the purpose of this message is to get down the basics.
human beings are fighting a constant battle against oblivion,
that's all there is to it.
understand what i am gonna say it'll bring you and yours everything you want.

THE NATURE CRUISE OF THE CENTURY!
your head rings,
and your pulse is pounding out a warning
every day is like hard edges and bright lights
rough skin and strangers and late nights
and i'm sick inside and dead on my feet
do you ever wonder what it means
when your head rings
and your pulse is pounding out a warning
your pulse is pounding out a warning
your heart is sounding an alarm
your throat is tied in knots and silent
this future's meant to do you harm

THE VAST STRUCTURE OF RECOLLECTION
(there are so few of us left that remember;
who can even imagine something besides...this.
and i am more than what i've been made to believe,
and we are all more than just things, or just...bodies.
and i have to remember that i don't deserve to die.
and i have to remember, and always remind myself
that this is not just the way things are,
because they were made this way.
and this is not just the way things ought to be.
and i'm afraid that this will all just die with me,
and i don't want this to all just die with me, and i'm afraid that it will.
there are so few of us left who remember.
and i have to remember that
this is not the way that the world always was,
and this is not the way that the world has to be.
i have to remind myself not to use the passive voice,
and that violence doesn't just happen by chance.
i have to remind myself that the world was made this way,
and that i am more than what i can be used for.
i have to remind myself to keep writing and to keep talking
and to keep writing and to keep talking.
i have to remind myself to remember.
i have to remind myself to remember.)

Unspeakable, Unthinkable
02:12
|
|||
UNSPEAKABLE, UNTHINKABLE
undone, unknown, unknowable
unmade, unnamed, unnameable
the thing that scares me most is the way you describe me
the way that your eyes can find and explain and define me --
the void i become in your sight.
unspeakable, unthinkable
unstable, unbearable, impossible.
and it might be too late.
the thing that scares me most is that it might be too late.
too late to exist outside what you desire, what you describe
too late to exist outside
the violence that it takes
to describe the violence that it takes
to describe the violence.

The Future Lasts Forever
01:30
|
|||
THE FUTURE LASTS FOREVER
these are old ideas that should have died
we still use them and use them, we bleed them dry
but something still rattles around inside
and i need your future like i need a hole in my head
the future makes me shudder
the future makes me sick
the future lasts forever, whether you are there or not
can you even bear the thought of it?
can you even bear the thought?

Always Incomplete
01:51
|
|||
ALWAYS INCOMPLETE
paper thin, illegible and incomplete
half-erased and half-seen
paper thin, illegible and incomplete
half-erased and smeared across the page
forever never here and never not
forever almost lost and half-forgot
always incomplete, always incomplete, always incomplete,
but never gone.
never gone.

LONG LIVE OUR DYING BREATH
long live what we forget
long live whatever's left
long live our dying breath.

No Such Thing As Dead
02:17
|
|||
NO SUCH THING AS DEAD
what does it mean to still be?
a call with no echo, unheard and unseen?
forced to listen to yourself as you breathe
and the sickening percussion of your tongue against your teeth
every moment's been drawn against a stone,
made sharp, and then held against your throat
there's no such thing as inside
no such thing as outside
no such thing as dead, no such thing as alive,
no such thing as now or then or never,
and no such thing as again.
